What is Snowshoeing?
Snowshoeing is quite simply walking on snow. Special snowshoes are required which have metal spikes which give extra grip on hard snow. Snowshoes provide extra flotation, without which you would sink into the snow, making progress very slow and tiring.
Snowshoeing`s increasing popularity
The last few winter seasons have seen a noticable trend in snowshoeing.
It means walkers are now able to capture the beauty of the scenary on a snow holiday without skiing or snowboarding. Appealing to those non-skiiers.
It has become common to see groups winter walking on snowshoes enjoying the scenery, sunshine and walking!
Snowshoeing has become an addition to the variety of activities available on winter exersions with resorts recognising its importance.
