The Alps are loved by everyone: nature-lovers and walkers who can explore the parks, enjoy the wonderful Italian hospitality in the myriad villages, and savor the splendid cuisine. The Italian mountains are for everyone - a marvelous place in all the seasons of the year.

The Aosta Valley provides the highest excitement in Europe. There is outstanding scenery where we can admire three of the glaciers: Mont Blanc, the Matter-horn and Monte Rosa.

The traditional village of Champoluc dates back to the 15th century and has some lovely old houses.  Over recent years it has expanded along the river bank but it still retains it’s charm. 

Wonderful views are a feature of our walking here.  The area offers some spectacular walks through pine forests and open meadows abundant with wildlife and flowers. Upon reaching 2700 metres we are above the tree line and footpaths meander through pastures where cattle graze amongst alpine flora: Black Vanilla Orchid, Mountain Houseleek to name a few. Wildlife in abundance: roe deer, ibex, wild boar and marmots can be seen here. 

There is good local transport which allows us to extend our exploration of the valley.
