A magical time of year for walking, clear blue sky when everything is peaceful and frost crunches underfoot. Hearty breakfasts and returning in the afternoon for a soak in the bath before spending the evening with great conversation.

We have chosen to return to Ambleside this year so that we can explore some of the Southern Lakes walks as well as Ambleside itself. Escape for some fresh air and a good blow out of any cobwebs after the festive period. A great short walking holiday that will lift your mood during the winter months.

The walking will be centred on the Coniston and Langdales area complemented with walking direct from Ambleside, and will include favourites, such as Cathedral Cavern and Loughrigg. All in all, a fabulous variety of walking and scenery.

Staying in The Rothay Garth, a 4 star Elegant Lakeland Guest House, just off the main centre in Ambleside overlooking the village green.

Meals

Breakfasts  will be taken in hotels, with nights out at
local restaurants.
