An idyllic island for those in search of winter sun, Gran Canaria offers a wealth of diverse landscapes from the lush sub-tropical valleys of the north to the southern dunes of Maspalomas shimmering in the winter sunshine.  The island`s centre is a land of high mountains with ridges moulded over the centuries into the amazing rock formations we can see today, all steeped in history none more so than Roque Nuble, The Cloudy Peak, held sacred by the cave dwellers of the island.  Hillsides that explode with colour each spring with a profusion of flowers plunge down into enormous canyons (barrancos) cradling lakes & reservoirs far below.

Our walks take you into this magical area, exploring pretty little whitewashed villages nestling on the hillsides some of which can only be reached linked by the network of footpaths dating back over 500 years.  A walk to the highest point on the island Pico de las Nieves where on a clear day Mount Teide on Tenerife can be seen.  Perhaps descend into the very depths of an extinct volcano followed by an optional visit to the islands botanical gardens.  All this rarely seen by the tourists in the beach resorts, all this await you on a HPD holiday to Gran Canaria - Land of eternal spring.
