Our Responsible Tourism Policy

At High Plains Drifters we have operated our holidays with due respect and consideration for the destinations we visit each year.  This is widely recognised today as ‘responsible tourism’, and we shall continue to follow in its guidelines during both our planning and running holidays stages.  There are three contributing elements that essentially form responsible tourism and these are economic,
environmental, and cultural.  We shall consider these as far as possible when developing an itinerary ensuring that we maximise the financial benefits to the host economies in the countries we visit.  We aim to minimise our impact on the local wildlife and natural environments, and show due respect to the local cultures and traditions in the host countries.

Travelling with High Plains Drifters means you are already doing your bit towards responsible tourism.  Wherever possible we leave only footprints behind on tracks, and rely less upon vehicles creating less of an environmental impact.  On occasions where we do use vehicles for our walks we always use local owned business or public transport already in place.

We understand that the mountainous areas we visit on our holidays provide enjoyment for both tourists and the local people, their livelihoods, jobs for the countries and must be conserved for future.
